4 Budget and Finance Apps for Android that Are Well Worth the Download
Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow, especially when the truth is an overdrawn bank account. If this is you, it’s time to confront your finances, and the Android apps below will make it as painless as possible.
If, on the other hand, you just need help tracking purchases or putting together a budget, the below apps are still the perfect solution. (It just won’t be as dramatic as with those who are spending out of control.)
1. EasyMoney ($9.95)
EasyMoney is a best seller, and is loaded with useful features like late bill notifications, interactive reports and graphs, data exporting, multiple account support, and more. If you want total control, EasyMoney might just be the app for you.
2. Toshl Finance (Free)
Toshl offers many of the features common to financial apps, but with one neat extra: foreign currency support. If you’re a globetrotter, have income or expenses in multiple countries, or just want to see which country’s currency makes you look the richest, Toshl can help.
3. MoneyWise Pro ($6.99, Free version also available)
LifeHacker called it 2012’s “Best Budget-Tracking App For Android,” so you could do a lot worse. MoneyWise Pro lets users separate personal and work expenses, handle an unlimited amount of accounts and budgets, and export in a variety of formats. And to top it all off, the paid version is totally ad-free. (It’s nice to see that some developers still follow the cardinal rule of paid versus free.)
4. iWallet (Free)
The best way to begin managing money is to start with a free tool! iWallet is a helpful introductory piece of software that will get you familiar with budgeting. Once you’ve established your budget, iWallet will keep you on track. If a transaction is out of budget, it will deliver you a mild shock as a form of negative reinforcement.
Just kidding! But it will give you a notification if your spending is out of line.
Bonus: Mint
You can’t talk about budgeting without mentioning Mint. It’s one of the gold-standard budgeting apps, and should be tested out by anyone who needs a financial tracking tool.
So there you have it. With these Android apps, your expenses will officially be under control.
(Now, if you could only find some income, you’d be all set!)
